We have a WiFi dongle inserted in the back in one of the two ports. During flight we lose connection with the iPad and ForeFlight intermittently. We have a panel extension where the dongle works. We got an assortment of extension cables and put the dongle on the end and WiFi shows offline for each of the two ports in the back and each of the various cables. When the various cables are plugged into the panel extension with the WiFi dongle, WiFi works.

My experience with Dynon Wifi was mysterious and aggravating enough that I finally just gave up and do without.

I also experienced wifi drops when more than 1 device is connected via wifi. If you fly with your cell phone make sure you disable wifi. Apple will cross pollinate your wifi settings from your tablet if on same account, and likely connect without your knowledge.

I would experiment with non-Apple devices just to narrow things down. I've seen Apple devices cause problems like this before.
