HDX10 heading off

I have a persistent issue with my heading being off by ~10 degrees. I've tried the inflight calibration until I've practically getting sick. The calibration numbers are high, but still it's off significantly. When flying with little wind there is a significant crosswind show and the heading is incorrect by ~10 degree. Even when taxiing the airplane appears to be crabbing. This makes it difficult to fly assigned headings.

What do I need to do to fix this?

It's likely you have a persistent magnetic field somewhere near the magnetometer. You can try to track that down and eliminate it, or move the magnetometer to another location or install a remote magnetometer somewhere away from magnetic fields.

I already have an SV-MAG-236 installed. Is there any way to see what the source being used for heading info is? Also, where is this typically installed in a Cessna 182?

Section 20 of the installation manual covers this. Unfortunately I have no information for you on a 182 installation.

If a network configuration was performed and the SV-MAG was recognized, it is using the SV-MAG (or not displaying a heading, but GPS track). Usually something like that is mounted in the wingtip, but you’d have to ask your installer where they put it. If it is in the wingtip (or anywhere really), is it near a strobe unit or something that has an electrical field, or significant ferrous hardware?

Brass hardware should have been used.

The connector on the end of the attached wire should be as far away as possible.

Is the SV-MAG properly aligned with the longitudinal axis of the aircraft? If not, it will indicate what direction the module is pointed, not the aircraft heading.
