Heading Tape Spinning

I am building a kit plane and installed a FltDEK-D180 this spring--I thought everything was working fine. I am back to work on the project now, and hoping for first flight this fall ;-)

When I power up the D180, either with internal battery power or avionics power, the heading tape starts spinning--slowly at first then speeds up. It just continues to spin.

I checked the MAGINC and MAGINT, and preformed a N,S,E,W calebration with no change.

Any thoughts, or troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

More info on rotating heading tape issue:

At first turn on, the heading is correct and stable, but the turn-rate indicator bar is max left. When the altitude tape shows up (about 30 seconds after power up) the heading starts spinning.

This looks like more of a stuck turn rate acceleromator?

Even more info:

I disconnected the remote compass and the problem still exists.

I removed the FlightDEK-D180 from the Aircraft (no connectors now connected) and powered it on-- the turn rate indicator is still pegged left. If I hold the D180 and spin right the the turn rate indicator will move to center then peg right, but when I stop the indicator will return to pegged left.

Is their a master reset, or do I need to return the unit for repair?

Thanks,
jeff

Sounds like a sensor issue - a rate sensor, not an accelerometer, incidentally. We'll need to look at your unit here to repair it. Please call tech support at 425-402-0433.
