We've been flying for a year with our D10 without any issues!  :)

This week we installed the EDC (purchased with the D10 many years ago, but not installed) with the OT we got directly from Dynon a couple of weeks ago.   After the installation we booted up the D10 and added OAT to the left side of the screen.   It worked! but the OT was 86C :(  ... I then flashed the Dynon D10 to the current version 1.13.00 (note we were already at 1.13.00 before this flash) as i read and was told by Dynon, the EDC and D10 needed to be at the same firmware.  Now after the reboot ... no OT!!  I flashed the D10 another three times and still can't get the OT to show up.   Between every flash i removed power from the Dynon D10 and the keepalive.   Then restored power and waited until the ALT tape showed up.

I used the update support program to get the data below.

D10 at version 1.13.00
EDC at version 0.00

UPDATE: tested the EDC with a magnet today ... the heading changes  :)   So it looks like the EDC is working ... but still no OAT  :(

Update: EFIS-D10 v1.13.00(Serial #1295)
EDC-D10 v00
Tried flashing the unit again tonight ... still got the above version numbers.
Tried MagCal with the EDC ... worked great ... the MagTape is working off the EDC as tested by using a magent.
Still no OAT

EDC version looks wrong for a start.

Are you doing the flash with the EDC connected or not?

Is this the 2wire OAT or the three wire version?

The EDC is connected ... tested using the magent test and the support program found it ok.

The OAT is the 2 wire version.

Have you told the EFIS that you have an OAT probe installed and told it the right probe type (probably type 2)?

It's a D10 not a D10a ... how do you do that to the D10, i don't see it in the manual?

I just noticed that you have the two wire version of the OAT? That's only for the EMS systems. All EFIS OAT's are three wire. You have to use the EFIS OAT on an EFIS. You can use the EFIS OAT on an EMS, but not the other way around.

You'll need to call us on Tuesday and we can set up a return for you. When you call make sure we know you have a D10 so that we get you the right probe for sure.

Fix found:

There are four wires for the OAT probe that need to be connected to the EDC.

RED
YELLOW
BLUE
SHIELD

The BLUE wire was broken inside of the shield about ¼” back from the end … that’s why I kept saying there were only three wires. Once I found and connected the BLUE wire to PIN 1 on the EDC (ground), the OAT started working.

The EDC for the D10 ... it will not show a version number with the support program.

Also the D10 doesn't has a OAT setup option ... if it correctly connected to the EDC and selected to display the OAT on the left or right ... it will show up.

Thanks Dynon for all your help!
:)
