On our 10th hour of test flying our new plane, our transponder went offline. We also have been getting a message "No ADSB Out" since day one. I don't know if our panel installer tested the XPNDR at installation into the aircraft. Just wondering if this would help.

Have you confirmed the GPS-2020 is configured as the data source for ADS-B out? The Skyview must have update 14.2 (I think) to support the GPS-2020 for a valid ADS-B output. Also ensure the transponder is up to date (independent of Skyview update) and configured for ADS-B out with appropriate settings.

If this is a brand new install, likely the cause of this message is that the installer did not input the tail number of the plane (which, for US aircraft) automatically inputs the "HEX Code" for the transponder.

There isn't anything in the software configuration that would cause the transponder to go offline after it was previously working. So for that, definitely look at power wiring, switch configuration, breakers and fuses.

v14 will definitely translate the n-number to the correct hex-code, but only at the moment you enter the n-number during configuration. So definitely check that.

But, since there is uncertainty about the configuration, you should probably go through the transponder and ADS-B Out installation sections of the SkyView installation guide to see if other things are possibly mis-configured. Also note that your transponder really needs to be tested before its used per https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/14/91.413.

Thanks for the input everyone. I will be looking at this over the weekend and get back to you with results. I am thinking there is a wiring issue as this is a new install and it was working properly for 10 plus hours before going off line. Probably a bad connection somewhere.
