High Fuel Pressure Spikes

On my last flight I was getting intermittent high fuel pressure readings of 8 - 10 psig with the P4055-5025-1 Kavlico fuel pressure sender on a Rotax 912 ULS.  The engine continued to run smoothly.  Previously the fuel pressure had been solid at 5 - 6 psig.  Although I haven't checked wiring/connections yet, I don't imagine high readings to be a wiring issue.  Could this be indicative of a sender failure?
TIA

It's a possibility. It could also be something else in the fuel system. I can't say we've heard of them failing in this way with any real frequency though.

I think Rotax had a bad batch of pumps wnen the newer model came in (the one with the screws around the face) but I think the pressure was high from start.

At 8 to 10 psi, you would think the pressure would overcome the carb float seat.
Any indication of running too rich (low egt's) or fuel leaking out of the carb?

I just installed the fuel press sensor last week on my uls.
I'm getting 6.3 to about 3.3 at wot.
