HITS Intermittent

I tried to find the answer to this in the new user manual but did not see it. My issue is that with a direct to destination in the Dynon I see the HITS upon take off and sometimes during the climb then it goes away most of the time mid flight. The boxes return as I descend. Is this how it is intended to operate?

I suspect you are not setting your altitude bug to your desired en-route altitude. HITS assumes you want to fly there and centers on that value.
