Dear Sirs,

After very happy 107 Hours beind my Dynon (bought August 2003) today I found out my Horizon is
approx 5 degrees tilted, iow level flight is no more , according to my Dynon at least.

Is there anyway I can calibrate this myself ?? Does outside Temp influence the instrument??
Until today all was fine , and it has worked flawless.

Wim,
Our units are calibrated over temperature, so temperatures within our specifications should not cause the EFIS to read wrong.

Is your unit showing a turn rate while on the ground? Have you flown the instrument since it started doing this? Finally, have you done a software update recently?

Re: Horizon starts to tilt

Well, thanks for reacting, just got back from another flight, and unit looks to be Horizontal while taxiing,
although in my Kitfox a lot of blue is visible, but as soon as taken off in level flight there is a 7 Degree tilt , which would cause me to make a nice Left turn , if I would believe the Dynon.

Unit has never been upgraded, 107 Hours of Use, but I need to fix this. Could a non charged External Battery ( 9V) cause this ??
What can you advise ??

Is your unit showing a turn rate (the yellow bar) while on the ground? Additionally, is the ball centered while on the ground?

A low battery should not cause this behavior, but note that if your external power is only 9V, your EFIS is probably actually running on the internal battery which our records show you have. If this is the case, the EFIS will eventually discharge the internal battery completely and fail to power up until it sees the required ships power of 10V or higher.
