Horrible Ratcheting Noise During Servo Test

I attempted to calibrate and test the AP roll and pitch servos on the ground today in a new-build RV7. In addition to the servos, I have a Skyview HDX 1100 installed along with electric roll and pitch motors. The servo calibration appeared to go fine and the system asked me to then proceed to TEST the servos. As soon as I selected OK I heard this awful ratcheting noise coming from both servos (I think). Scared the beejesus out of me. Anyone any idea what this might be before I investigate further or attempt the calibration and test again.

That's actually normal - the servos will run up against their limit and then "slip" - part of the design. The slip feature allows you to overpower a frozen or malfunctioning servo in flight.
