How hard is it to install an autopilot panel into an existing skyview classic panel with 2 sv-700 screens?

This module is a great value - only second to the Knob Panel!

If you have a spot on your panel and know how to cut a square hole, easy peasy. The main connection is just another length of Dynon network wire and two 9 pin D connectors.

If you want to use the panel to control the roll and pitch trim servos (recommended), some extra time wiring is needed. But the ”auto trim” feature as well as the 3 second safety time out is worth the effort.

Don’t forget to make sure you are running the current operating system software.

As Carl said if you have panel space it can be done in an afternoon. If you are talking about the knob and AP panels without electric trim, they just connect into the Skyview network and you can order premade cables. If you are wiring the AP panel to control electric trim it is a bit more complicated.

The hole in the panel is harder to make. It is a rectangle with a notch in each corner for the mount screws. I put nutplates in to make future removals easy. The hole you cut is pretty close tolerance if you want a good fit. Dynon provides a drawing for the cutout and mount holes. I made a template out of sheet steel on the bench, then used it as a cutting and drilling guide. The template also reduced the possibility of slipping and damaging the existing instrument panel. Drilled the screw hole locations first to cleco the template in place on the panel. Hope that helps
