Hub at the back of the plane...

Greetings!

I'm working on the Fuse, so I'm running the Skyview network wires from the back of the plane. In the rear of the plane, I have the pitch servo and the ADAHRS. I bought a HUB, but was told the line that runs from the hub to the firewall need the heavier power leads for the pitch servo. So, I ordered the 20 ft network cable for the servos. BUT that bundle does not have all the wires the other network cable has. ???

So, Can I hook the pitch servo and the ADAHRS (right now 1, later 2) to the hub and have one network wire go to the firewall? what do I need to make that happen?

You can indeed, but the power/ground from the servo(s) need to be run separately regardless. In other words, if you're using a hub and connecting a servo and ADAHRS to it, the hub will have 3 connectors plugged into it. One "normal" network cable going from the hub to a display, one normal network cable going from the hub to the ADAHRS, and one connector coming from the servo harness, which will have only have the 4 data wires going into the 9 pin connector. The other wires, power, ground, and disconnect, go to ships power, ground, and your disconnect switch, respectively.

OK, just to verify:

You are saying I need to take the DB9 on the servo apart, remove the power, ground and disconnect leads, reassemble the DB 9 and plug it into the hub. Then create a new DB9 with the loose wires from the servo and run THAT to the front of the plane for power, remote ground and autopilot disconnect.  how can I find out which wires are these?  Can I download the wiring diagram?

The wiring guide starts on page 10-9 of the install manual.

My servos come with bare wires. I cut into the network cable to the ADAHRS and used a terminal block to splice in the four wires for both servos. The rest of the network cable to the ADAHRS I left untouched.

So you shouldn't have the power and disconnect going to a DB9 that's going to SkyView Network, period. The wiring diagram on page 10-9 (Rev K) of the SkyView Installation Guide, and the pages around it, should help. That doc can be found at http://dynonavionics.com/docs/support_documentation.html.

hmmm.. I bought the

SV-NET-SERVO - Network Autopilot Servo wiring kit - 20' plus connectors & pins

for $55. Do I need to return it and get my money back?  It has DB9 at each end.  Actually, I assume I will need to return it, since it can not be used with the hub.

So that harness actually comes with no connectors attached. You should have 20 feet of harness wire and all of the pieces (minus a crimper) you need to make the harness exactly the way you need it (cut to length, routed through tight spaces). When you put it together, the power, ground, and disconnect wires shouldn't be in the DB9 connector, per the diagram. Technically, you can connect the power and ground through the 9 pin at the servo end only, but they need to be split out at the other and sent to ship's power, not the hub/SkyView Network.

With the 4 other wires connected to the DB9, though, it is indeed compatible with the hub.

Please confirm I can leave all wires in the DB9 at the servo as long as I lead the power, ground and disconnect separately at the other end to ships power. I am going to run the servo wiring today and having the DB9 intact at the servo end would result in a much cleaner install. I though I had read the DB9 could not carry the power required for the servo. I do understand the network cannot supply the power.,

I believe the DB9/25/37 pins and connectors are rated at 5 amps so they can handle the servo power and ground loads. Page 10.9 of the Installation Manual for the current draws for the servos.
