I'm using Mike Busch's Savvy Analysis to view my data and I'm not sure what units are being output by my Skyview, for IAS and GPS ground speed. I've set the display to read in MPH but does that affect the output to the log files?

Are the IAS and GPS ground speed data fields posted to the log file in MPH or Knots or is that governed by my on screen settings ?

Thanks.

I know that temp is in centigrade and I believe speeds are in knots. I read temp in fahrenheit but the data log is in centigrade so I'm sure your screen settings have no effect.

Savvy Analysis has the ability to convert unit.  It's under Flight Data-> My Aircraft, then on the right-hand side under "Actions", click the menu icon and select Unit Conversions.

You're on your own from there...I don't use them.  But there they are...

ETA: BTW, you can load the log file into Excel or any other program that can read CSV files, and just look at the top row (headers) to see the units being output. Seems a simple experiment to change a few of them on the SV unit and see what changes come out in the log file...
