I have read the manual but could not find it. We did try while flying from the RH screen, but could not add the IFR procedures at the destination. This AC is equiped with a Garmin GNC255 Navcom, connected to the SV through an Arinc429. I do have an updated Jepp database installed on the LH screen. Not sure if it matters on which screen it is.

I thought it will be similar to the G430 where there is a PROC button where you can select the approach and add it.
Thanks.

SkyView does not have IFR procedures. In the USA, to fly GPS approaches you must have a certified navigator, so SkyView is designed to fully integrate with one of those instead of doing IFR procedures itself.

So if I have a G430 it will work and will get that from the G430 flight plan as explained on page 7-47?

Yes With a 430 we can show all the procedures on the Dynon screen, and the autopilot can fly them.

@ Dynon Support. Thinking further about this. Is right then if I understand that the RS232 (or rather NMEA string) out of the G430 is different to that of a GNC255?

Sounds like that if the SV has the ability to discriminate between them? Please explain if possible.

The GNC is a NAV/COM only and doesn't do IFR procedures at all like a 430 can. It has no databases and only knows radials to a station or a CDI on a localizer.

The 430 is a GPS navigator with a full procedures database, as well as a COM and NAV.

But to answer your question, yes, their data output is totally different. The 430 doesn't output procedures or any VLOC data on serial at all, and requires ARINC-429 to get this data. It outputs only basic GPS data on serial. Via ARINC-429 the 430 sends us the procedure to display. SkyView doesn't have any procedures internally.
