I am running a single SV-1000 monitor with dual ADHARS, single EMS, and GPS and have discovered an interesting scenario with my backup battery. I have noticed that whenever I would power down my aircraft master and then subsequently power down the EFIS using the “power down” soft key, I would notice the small green LED next to the CAT 5 plug on the back of the EFIS would flash until I physically disconnected the backup battery. Once reconnected, the light would then stay off. I then made the discovery that when allowed to time out and power down on its own; the light would not come on at all. I am curious if I am the only one who has seen this. Current firmware is 3.2.2.

How long after it powers down do you see that light flash? Are we talking seconds, or minutes? The former is normal, but if it persists for longer, there may be something else going on. When you flip master back on after turning it off via the power off button (without disconnecting the backup battery), does the unit display back on normally?

I’ve never actually let it go long enough to see if it would eventually time out, but I’m farly certain that it will run for as long as the backup battery had juice. I have noticed that the frequency of the light seems to vary with the charge state of the battery. I’ve not tried powering up again with the light flashing to see if it will power up normally. I’ll do that tonight and report back.
