Is it OK to run SV on ground with Charger

I am about ready to initially power-up and play with the SV (w/ AP and ADS-B) on my yet-to-fly RV-12. Is it electronically acceptable to start-up and play with the SV with the main battery (PC680) and an Odyssey Ultimizer 12 Volt 6 Amp Battery Charger hooked up and operating? Or, is it better to fully charge the main battery, unhook the charger, and then operate the SV without the charger installed? Thanks!

I don't know the specifics of that charger, but I've read several cautions about powering avionics with battery chargers attached as some, not all, will pulse the battery with higher voltages and this can damage your avionics.

Personally, I am using a dedicated 12VDC power supply, instead of a battery charger, that I got from the local electronics store as my shop power, as I don't have a battery installed yet.

The cost of this thing was minimal, about 1.5 airplane units, so perhaps that might be something you could investigate?

I did that - a lot! Three different chargers, on for hours trying to get the backup battery to charge. No problems.
