Is this a CHT probe failure?

My CHT #1 is operating incorrectly.  It was fine for the first 35 hours.  Now it starts out normally until temps get to about 360 degrees.  At that point it jumps about 30 degrees and them goes into a very quick 15 degree swing at about one second or less per cycle.  The other five are normal.

Is this a CHT failure or a connector issue?

try the connector. I took mine off and reattached than crimped it for a tight fit. Normally it was the opposite for me, bounced around until it heated up than was fine. Eventually it would do the same.
I also cut off the connector and re-crimpted a new connector. Be aware that the CHT wires are VERY small so I needed to fold over a few times to get a good fit. Have not had another issue since I did this
I have also already replaced a connector at 120 hours, that showed a red X.

The supplied probes now have a multicore conductor so what you, I & others experienced in the past with the single conductor is no more ;)

excellent news Jake! thank you for the update!

Bruce- tighten the 2 connectors and see if that resolves it. I recall that I was able to duplicate the cht issues with the plane in the hangar, if the tightening resolves the fluctuations than its a loose connector, if not buy a new probe and plug that in to see if that shows steady. Sadly you'll probably need to replace a probe eventually anyway.
good luck!
