Ive installed a Skyview system in My LongEZ. I have an error message saying Xponder 261 Not installed. I checked PNs and it says on my transponder Trig TT22. I ordered the system through Spruce and selected Xponder 261 in my order. Are these transponders Identical?

A picture of the Transponder manufacturers tag on the Txpdr will help solve the issue.
FYI - the TT22 is a Class 1 unit like the Dynon 261 however although they are both built by Trig (now owned by Dynon) the TT22 is not compatible. I believe there are software issues &, unlike the TT22, the Dynon does not nave the inbuilt encoder.
note : The Dynon 261 does not need an inbuilt encoder due to that function being supplied via the SV EFIS.

Im not sure what you mean. But I spoke with Dynon today, they are, in fact, one in the same if the Dynon sticker is on the transponder. Mine has it so it is a 261. The warning came from me scrolling one too many in the serial setup. I had selected Xponder-262...... All fixed now.

Now *I'm* confused. Your box says TT22, and I thought that was equivalent to a Dynon 262. No matter...if you have what you need for your location and aircraft performance, that's great!

Just an update - FYI, if the transponders don’t have a Dynon label on them they are the Trig only units which include the encoder. The Dynon versions don’t have an encoder, and rely on their EFIS with inbuilt encoder, & have both labels ie Trig & Dynon On their units.
As I understand it, Trig messed up the numbering of their TT21/ TT22 units during certification & were unable to change them back.
So they are stuck with -
TT22 is a Class 1 Txpdr - which is similar to the tagged Dynon 261. (higher power & meets IFR specs)
TT21 is a class 2 Txpdr - which is similar to the tagged Dynon 262. ( lower power).

So they are stuck with -

Wow, that's some seriously bad configuration management LOL! I've seen plenty of wires and signals swapped (A-B, 0-1, On-Off, etc.)...but never and entire product line! HA!

But that was not what the OP asked.
OTOH, knowing exactly what the different models are may help anyone purchasing old stock or via adverts etc.
Btw - the Dynon/Trig Txpdr 261/262 has a Dynon label at the connector end & a Trig label at the other end. (The OP downloaded only 1 x picture - both ends pics are needed to properly identify the units).

Actually, they both answered it, though the answer may not have been obvious. @jakej pointed out that the TT22 is not compatible, and to check the label. @Thinder reported that Dynon told him they were one and the same, if the Dynon sticker is on the transponder. However, there is no Dynon sticker on that transponder. It is a Trig TT22 (pre-Dynon), and it's not compatible with the Skyview.
Just to clarify. Im the OP. It is my transponder pictured. The dynon sticker is opposite of the trig manufacture sticker and isnt shown. This trig transponder is identical to the 261 and therefore compatible with skyview HDX.
The post about “did he not” and “adverse to the answer” seem out of place and provide only confusion.

That's new information. So it may well be compatible. There were some communication difficulties here that were confusing, which I was trying to point out. That tends to happen on the internet a lot. Don't take it personally.
As for your problem, have you run the serial port setup?

You posted 1 picture only, why ?
You knew it had a Dynon label at the other end, ‘we’ did not know that, & yet you choose not to post that pic or admit to it being there.
Why did you waste our time on this ?
‘WE‘ are volunteers trying to help fellow aviators using our time & experience.
You should, & would know that data is everything, & yet you choose not to supply it all -why ?
