I am close to ordering my Dynon avionics at VANS for the RV12 and This confuses me a bit.
VANs quotes a $2000 more expensive package compared to US version.
Reason being the Garmin 225A (8.33 kHz) and the PM3000 intercom which is not required when the Garmin 200 is used.
Are the cheaper 8.33 radios and intercom option which work with Skyview?
To my knowlegde the xpondr 262 is also accepted for Europe which saves $400

I use Skyview in my other plane with Icom210 which is fine but does not work well with Skyview.
Also the flightcom intercom is poor an noisy n

Please advise better options

If you are building as a LSA, I don't think you are permitted to change anything.....

Jack,
Your radio doesn't need to interface with SkyView at all, so you can use any 8.33KHz radio in the plane that you want. There are some radios that can be tuned by SkyView and we can show the status of the radio at the top, but that is not a requirement for SkyView to work. We're not experts on the 8.33KHz radio options so we can't offer any great suggestions there. I do know that all 8.33KHz radios must be TSO'd, and are harder to build, so they cost quite a bit more than the non-certified 25KHz radios that can be used in the USA.

Any intercom that has an unswitched auxiliary input should work fine. Dynon would like to recommend their own Intercom, which we know will work great!

However, as Paul said, you need to look into your local regulations and see if it is acceptable to build the RV-12 with different avionics than the kit requires.

We haven no LSA in Europe so we are all EAB.
We do no need TSO for experimentals either.
I have an Icom with Skyview in my other plane as well.

I like the connection Skyview so can you tell which radio's talk Skyview language and are suitable for 8.33
The Icom does not completely.

I found the MGL V6 radio which is 8.33 and claims to be SL30 / SL40 protocol compatible.
Has this one been tested with Skyview ?
