linking D100 to Garmin GTX 327

Hi I have read and I think followed, the instructions for linking them together
Using the Dynon supplied wiring harness serial 2 pin 13 of the twin shielded wire, I have connected to GTX 327 input pin 19. Serial ground pin 22 I have connected to the case as a ground.

but what do you do with the shielded wire at the 327 end, do you connect it to anything?
could not find the info in the past forum messages

I've never connected these two, but several things seem wrong here.

By "serial 2 pin 13", I assume you mean pin 13 of the DB-25 connector.

Pin 19 on the GTX 327 is an RS-232 connection, not an encoder connection. Table 4-4 of the GTX 327 Installation Manual (Revision N) lists the encoder connections.

Pin 22 on the GTX 327 is not a signal ground. It's power ground. Table 4-4 also shows the encoder signal ground should be pin 13 or pin 25.

Maybe someone who's actually done these connections can add more detail.
