Hi Dynon Support -

We are a group of Dynon SkyView users from Israel. We have a need to embed local CVFR maps and routes into the SkyView. The Jeppesen IFR maps are good, as long as we fly IFR. Most of our flying is done CVFR. We have access to local scanned and vector-enabled maps. How (or when) are we able to load these maps into the SkyView? What kind of file will the SkyView accept? Alternatively - can we send to you a high resolution scan of the local CVFR maps so that you will convert into loadable maps?

Thanks - Rubi

HI Rubi
Have you look at PocketFMS vs Jeppensen??

PocketFMS has way more info ( If you're outside of the USA ) and they seem to be very open to new stuff..

http://www.pocketfms.com/dynon/

It might be a good idea for you to have a look at their web site and see what they can do for you..

Here in Canada, they had airports I didn't know existed around my own strip..

Good luck..

Hi Rubi: SkyView doesn't currently support importing and displaying vector or raster images, although at least the latter in on the list (vector format data gets tricky). At the moment, only digital data is supported, through our free FAA-provided data (US-only), and then Jep and PocketFMS data for customers outside the US. PocketFMS has a bit of a better reputation for light GA coverage among our EU customers - you might inquire about what sortsof coverage they have for Israel. Note that the digital data we display at the moment is limited to airports, airspace, navaids, intersections, and visual reporting points. SkyView doesn't currently display airways.

I would be highly interested to learn from people who have been using PocketFMS for Israel. What kind of data does it have? Do you have Israel maps and view points? Any of the LSA viewpoints and strips supported?

You might get in touch with PocketFMS directly to ask them about their data coverage there. Make sure to mention that you're using SkyView.
