The upgrade to 5.0 from 4.0 went fine. But right after the first reboot, all it displays in map window is a message saying "Map trial mode 30 hours remain" (as can be seen in the attached sceenshots).

The base map loading went fine. I fail to understand why the map display has disappeared. Kindly Help!

Regards.

Ah, I see. So, first, make sure you have the appropriate high resolution terrain database installed. Without it, when you zoom in, you'll see no map as the system tries to move over to the high resolution data. I think that's why you're not seeing any map. Terrain is available at:

http://dynonavionics.com/docs/terrain.html

Also, to see aviation data (airports / airspace / etc), you'll also need an aviation database for your part of the world (you'll still see terrain and basemap even without this, though). You can see the available options at http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/support_software_SkyView_Databases.html

I had the same problem - no basemap showing. Dynon had me install a US aviation database (I'm in Australia) before the ACCEPT button would show up and I could get the basemap to display again (everything was good before loading v5) although I haven't yet been able to see the rivers, roads, railways I was seeing in V4.

When I turned the unit on for the first time after installing V5 it went into an endless loop which was fixed by first disconnecting the EMS cable. My unit is currently back with Dynon because since new the screen has been displaying bands of color - didn't realise this wasn't normal until a technician experienced with Dynon came to do the pitot/static and transponder tests. Not impressed that I am having these problems but response from Dynon has been good and I trust the promised software update will address the causes of the issues I had.

Faisal - You do also need to go to the main menu > MAP, the press ACCEPT before the map is shown. This is a slight bug in 5.0 that will be fixed in 5.1

I also have the same prob in Australia (Black screen on MAP page.) It came with Sth Pacific maps 30 day trial & I have 2 x 10" screens. So let me get this right! If I download the 'Sth Pacific Base map' or is it US base map? and re install it over what is already there, I will get a soft key option to ACCEPT. Correct? Please detail!!
ALSO over the past week I have had errors when trying to configure all SV devices. After checking contenuity I found the problem! It was on your pre made SV-NET-25-CP, You may want to re check (create a system) that the pins on the connectors are fully inserted untill they 'CLICK' into place before you ship out to your customers! I also agree MYBEE I should of also checked before installation!
Now that system is almost perfect I am very pleased.

Base map is inconsequential. You need to have an aviation database - any aviation databse - installed, or you won't get the MAP button. You can buy a Jepp or PocketFMS subscription, or, just download one of the free US databases, just to get yourself started (won't have anything for your area, but should "unlock" the map).

SkyView 5.1 update is out (which should fix this issue).

User data logging and Stadium TFR support are the two feature additions. All of the little things are covered in http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/WhatsNew_SkyView.html

Download the software update at http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/support_software_SkyView.html.

Updated documentation for the 5.1 release can be found at http://docs.dynonavionics.com.
