I had an odd occurrence happen yesterday, and I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. After startup, I discovered that the map knob (right side) wouldn't adjust the map range. Intermittently, it might adjust one step, but the push function worked normally. I rebooted the unit, but the problem remained. After the flight, and after removing power to the unit completely using the master switch, I powered it up again. This time, the knob worked normally.
So, my takeaway is that sometimes it takes more than a simple reboot to resolve a glitch. It may require the total removal of power to the unit. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
And while I'm asking... The far right push button (next to the map knob) often requires a rather firm push to get it to work. This button is used far more than any of the others, so I just assumed it's wearing out. I'm inclined to open the unit to see if there's something going on with the button's mounting that may be causing this. The unit is out of warranty, and I'm not keen to pay Dynon the large fixed fee to address this. Just curious if anyone has had this issue as well.
