This is how you change it. Pilot user guide page 96

If in flight, press-and-hold Buttons 7+8 (IN FLIGHT SETUP MENU) > MAP SETUP > MAP MODE > INC MAP RANGE > CLOCKWISE | COUNTERCLOCKWISE. If not in flight, press-and-hold Buttons 7+8 (SETUP MENU) > MAP SETUP > MAP MODE > INC MAP RANGE > CLOCKWISE | COUNTERCLOCKWISE.

I remembered reading it but just couldn't find it. Search failed me and my eyes gloss over after reading these manuals over and over. I thought I might have seen it in the Avidyne IFD manual and asked over there (gotta get the HDX and IFD540 twisting in the same direction), but they confirmed that it isn't possible on their equipment. Anyway, thanks again!

It’s a pleasure JJ - I know exactly what you mean the manuals a expansive. Glad I could help.

I think the menu system is a bit confusing sometimes and it could do with a tidy up.
An example is when you’ve exported the ‘user logs’ the next thing you’re likely to do is ‘clear’ them but it’s in a totally different menu area that I found once and then couldn’t find again for a while .

Clockwise should be zoom in, IMHO! In my BMW it is the opposite for the map zoom and it drives me crazy. Not configurable in the car. HDX done right and lets you choose!

Worse than that, I had a certain German car where it did as you said. When the miles built up I ordered a new car, same model, same trim level......and you guessed it...they changed it to opposite direction. now clockwise out, counter to zoom in...totally illogical.

Yep, my MB is also CCW to zoom in. Dynon did good by giving us the option!
