Maroon Line On Map

I can't say I've ever noticed this wide maroon line on my map before. It's not an airway. Anyone know what it represents?

almost looks like a missed weather update area. Did it go away eventually?

It reminded until I flew past it. Wish I had thought to have zoomed in and out to see its extent and maybe a better idea of what it was. Hopefully not a 16.5 artifact.

I saw something like that just last week. Zoomed out, it was an irregular trapezoid, maybe 5-6 times as long as wide, fixed on the map. It went away a few minutes later. I assumed it was missing weather data and I haven't seen it in the ~10 hours since. I'm flying 16.4.

Yes, I now agree. Flew yesterday and it happened again, this time while on the taxiway and thought to zoom out this time. Lots more missing data. Just never noticed it before.

Yes, that's what you'll see if ADS-B data hasn't been received for a particular location. That can result from momentary loss of reception and isn't abnormal if it's a small percentage of the whole picture.
