Monopole vs Blade antenna [ch10067][ch10067][ch10067]

Guys,

Any consideration on blade antena advantage
vs monopole? Is the price difference justified?

Blade type is electrically &, surprisingly to some, more aerodynamic than the dipole type. The dipole type rod is too brittle & can easily break - I’ve had 1 customer break 2 of them before he got smart

What Jake said, and cost delta is significant. Round things have very poor aerodynamics.

For what it’s worth, I too broke two of the monopoles just by trying to clean the plane’s belly. They are very fragile. Switched to blades with no further problems.
