Yesterday's hour+ flight was perfect, no issues. Of course, today, with a passenger, the SV decided to reboot itself over and over. It *seemed* to be related to the map (when I turned the map page off, it seemed to be stable; when I turned it on, it rebooted) and MAY be related to communications with the ARINC box (connected to a 430W), as when I set a new Direct To and entered it on the 430, the SV immediately rebooted. Caution, though, as that may just be coincidental.

Each time, it said it was writing out some sort of diagnostic file.

I downloaded the usual Diagnostics file and will send it to you when I get home this afternoon.

Disconcerting to passengers, to say the least... :(

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention...while the system was suffering from these reboots, it *also* said that the Backup Battery needed to be tested (not true, and the message regarding that went away later, on the ground). The battery icon also showed the ! symbol.

Is this related?

That's a little odd. Once you complete a battery test, it's good for a year, and then you should get the notification again. When you saw the notification, is it possible you didn't yet have a GPS lock (time is provided via GPS)?

Possible...it started doing this when it started doing the resets with the older V13 (I uploaded new software today, but didn't fly...in any case, no message about the backup battery now).

That's a weird sequence of side-effects...a bug related to incoming data from another GPS source's flight plan causes a reset AND a warning about the backup battery. Yikes!
