For the last year or so I have enjoyed watching runways appear on my skyview screen when away from home. I fly from a private (LL22) residential airstrip outside of chicago.
I have never seen an SV runway depiction on my home airport.
After the last database update. There is a green runway on my night departure, with runway numbers and a centerline. Awesome! I wonder what changed?
Why would this obscure patch of runway suddenly reach the big time? Not sure why our little runway is depicted as grass, but Very pleased with little blessings. :D

Easy, Jeppeson added it to the database. Our little grass strip wasn't shown but a call to Jep and they said they'll get it in.

So assuming that johnS is using the FAA data, the answer is simply that the FAA got around to adding it.Your tax $$ at work :)

If it's green, that means that the FAA thinks it's a turf strip. Pull up the INFO page and then look at the runway info to confirm that.
