This forum is pretty quiet about the new G3X Touch. I haven't examined it in detail yet but isn't imitation the sincerest for of flattery. I'm pretty sure that the X team secretly wanted a SV in their planes.
I'll have to admit I like the stuff that comes from Garmin. It was a toss up between the G3X and the Skyview when I upgraded back in 2010. In the end I was seduced but the superior graphics and overall aesthetics of the Skyview. It was a good choice and still is. The SV has come a long way from the basic product release I bought in 2010 at little extra cost to me. A good philosophy on Dynon's part.
I won't be ripping out my SV in exchange for something new just yet. Unless of course it's a new 14 inch SV Touch. I had a GDU370 on my wish list for the portrait shaped space in my panel for the last couple of years. The iPAD/Foreflight combination won that battle when they came out with Canadian VNC maps. It won't drive my AP but has weather for the rest of us that don't have ADS-B. I also opted for the GTR200 over the Dynon radio. Seduced by the stereo. Call me easy.
