Hello,
Does Dynon have any plans on having a TSO 146 GPS with IFR databases for HDX?
and
Does Dynon have any plans on making units with ADI and HSI capabilities similar to a Garmin GI-145 or G5?
Just asking because that would solve some issues I'm having in making my RV IFR capable.
Thanks,
Denis

Been waiting years for Dynon to pull the trigger on a TSO'd GPS. Finally decided on the Garmin 175, along with a VAL 2000 for ILS capability. Both work great with a Skyview. The bottom line from my talking with them back when we use to have an Oshkosh get together was that the cost to develop a TSO'd GPS was prohibitive. However with the new Certified STC line out there maybe they will revisit the issue. I would not hold my breath. This is not a dig at Dynon, just basic economics. If they come up with one down the road my Garmin 175 will probably come out as I would expect Dynon's yearly update cost's to be significantly less. Just my 2 cents.

Nobody outside of Dynon knows what Dynon has back in the R&D lab, if anything. For today and the foreseeable future the answer is no, and you'll need to install a certified navigator connected to the Dynon ARINC-429.

The Skyview (and legacy) are all you need when coupled to a IFR GPS. Now I would say dual screen, dual ADAHRS and backup power is a must.

Outside of that you should have no trouble at all.

Dual ADAHRS might be considered optional if you have a completely standalone source of artificial horizon, like a G5 or similar, but the principle is the same - have a backup.
