I am about to finish the installation of 2 EMS D120s. One into a Lycoming TIO 540 [Piper Navajo Chieftain] and the other into a Continental TSIO 520 [Cessna Turbo 210 Centurion].
These engines are mounted in test cells at our training institute where I hope to sync the streaming output from the RS232 port to an Audio Video display.
The idea is to perform a runup in real-time with the entire operation saved for display in a Smart Classroom.  The instructor will be able to show the actual engine run from start to finish along with the Dynon graphical output displayed on a screen along with the A/V feed.

My question: Has anyone here already done this type of programing? I imagine it could be done with MS Excel to accept the binary data, and then into a graphics program to convert that data to visuals for projection display that would at least be similar to the D120 screen's display. If so, please contact me and we can see if we have a mutual interest here!   :)

We didn't miss the post, but he was asking if anyone has taken the serial out from a D120 and pumped it into a program that makes a PC look like the EMS. We haven't, and I'm not aware of anyone that has, so we didn't have much to add.
