Who is going to take over vp engineering as this is the heart of the company . Hopefully roadmap of using g1000 as benchmark won't change and replacement will build on what nick has done.

Usually when marketing takes control the product direction and strategy follows sales agendas - concerned long time client with dynon in three planes .

So actually, though Nick was a hugely valuable asset as our engineering lead and COO, and he'll be missed, product decisions haven't  happened here solely in "engineering". There's actually broad consensus among various disciplines, including engineering, marketing, systems architecture, etc. And a huge amount of our overall direction and success is owed to our founder/owner, John Torode, who's still here daily despite calling Dynon a "hobby gone wrong".

As someone that's straddled the line between our engineering and marketing teams in my roles here, I'm excited that Robert (formerly our Sales and Marketing Manager, now Dynon's President) is actually broadening exposure of that process to even more Dynonians. So from where I sit (and yes, I'm biased), it's an exciting time!

Hedley,

It is even worse than you imagine. Not only was I in marketing, I also have an MBA.   :)

Fortunately, I am also an Electrical Engineer. My first engineering job was working on the Boeing 747 autopilot systems.  At the Fluke corporation I was responsible for the existence of many very cool products (IMHO).   My personal philosophy is that innovative, quality products always come first. And working at Dynon is great because of the incredibly smart developers here, almost all of whom are pilots.

If we don't accomplish the goal of great products, to your satisfaction, let me know. The best part of this job is talking to our pilot customers.

Thanks for reply's . I too have similar background and have been CEO of electronic design and manufacturing company for 19 years . I think your product is superb and without equal at the price point . Comfort for existing and new users could be in the form of a product road map ( with no guarantees or timelines  ) but rather a heads up on where you are planning on taking the business . As an example I purchased  a gyro gimbal camera  from a fantastic small team that was swallowed up by large corporate . Within 1 year many products were dropped and business direction / pricing and strategy changed 180 degrees. I realize we all have exit plans and not being a luddite I embrace change but please try and retain the passionate change agents and drivers that have got you where you are in a tough marketplace . All the best to the team.  ;D

I have been fortunate enough to really push Robert to the limit these last few years. He gave me a tour of the facility and always was straight with me on getting the Skyview to work with the Vertical Power VP-200 and other developments. In each and every case he was passionate about feedback and always looked into and (gasp) replied to every e-mail or call honestly.
Personally, I am very excited about the changes. Always sad to see a smart team member move on, but Michael has been outstanding in support and trust he will fill Robert's shoes very well. I know Robert will lead Dynon to greater things.
