Avidyne IFD-540
SV-XPNDR-261
SV-ADSB-472
SV-HDX-1100/B
SV-GPS-250A

In the attached picture, you can see the message "NO ADS-B OUT: GPS LOST"

We need the GPS signal from the IFD-540 WAAS Navigator. We have confirmed the GPS signal for the IFD-540 is working in all other aspects.

A multimeter confirms the GPS signal from the IFD-540 is pulsing at Pin 3 on the cable into the SV-XPNDR-261.

The 2nd picture here shows NO GPS DATA in the HDX under transponder settings.

The 3rd picture here shows NO ADSB POS in the HDX under transponder settings.

At this point, we are stuck. If I switch over to SV-GPS-250A, ADS-B OUT works. But we cannot use the SV-GPS-250A for ADS-B OUT.

Any thoughts? We are at a loss...

Thanks!

Probably a configuration problem. In what format and what speed is the Avidyne IFD-540 sending data to the SV-XPNDR-261?
Now there's an interesting question... We have not considered that. I will get with my Avionics people and see what they say...

Thanks so much!

The 430W requires a resistor in the serial line to the 261. I suspect the 440 does too.

Chapter 12 of the install manual:
If a Dynon Avionics SV-XPNDR-261 is being used for ADS-B Out capability: Another 430/530
serial output should be set to “ADS-B+ OUT” format. That serial port should be connected to
the SV-XPNDR-261’s pin 3 through a 1.21k resistor as described in the SV-XPNDR-261/262
Installation and Configuration. Finally, set SETUP > TRANSPONDER SETUP > GPS DATA to DIRECT
(GARMIN ADS-B/GARMIN ADS-B+).

Donald,

Your Dynon GPS 2020 antenna is offline. This is the GPS source for your ADSB out according to your photo. It should be installed on Serial Port 5 normally. Check your serial ports to make sure the antenna is showing a flow of good sentences and no Bad Groups or Errors count increasing. Check the GPS Status to see if it is showing satellites. I suspect you will see no satellite reception. If this is the case you either have a bad connection on one of the 4 antenna wires to Serial Port 5 or the antenna failed. If you reboot the system does the antenna come up normally?
