No integrated NAV for Skyview?

Dynon tech folks,
I have been following Skyview for some time now and am amazed at the progress! I am disappointed that it seems there will be no integrated NAV solution for this system. Yes I have read through other posts! Not that this is going to change my choice when I get to purchasing avionics but this seems rather short sighted. Is there a chance you may change your plans for an integrated NAV solution in the future?

I mean a NAV radio! How does (or can) Skyview drive localizer and glideslope without a NAV radio?

Thanks

It can't. Don't think it is short sighted, however. Unless I'm missing it, no other EAB EFIS system has an integrated nav radio. Seems like a high R&D cost for a very few number that would likely sell.

To fly instrument approaches, you need a separate nav radio (such as a Garmin 430 or GTN 650) connected to your Skyview through the ARINC box. That's what I have on mine and it works like a champ. I can't wait for the VNAV on the new version 6.0 autopilot!

booooo.... Mongo want integrated solution!
Thanks tho to all the replies.
So am I reading the info correct that the 430 will need the ARINC box where an SL30 is a direct serial interface?

I guess the biggest disappointment I have found so far is that Dynon has made a decision to not support anything but digital communications (I.e. Garmin) in Nav radios. I have a Terra Nav radio w/glideslope in my aircraft. This would make a marvelous combo with Dynon for vertical coupled approaches. Alas, Dynon has decided not to support it, as it is analog. :(

We attempted to support analog interface back in 2006 with the HS34 for the D10A and D100 products. Turns out that the "standard" for analog interfaces is far from a standard and while what we designed worked fine with a few radios out there, it didn't work with most. The electronics to do this are expensive and complex, so with SkyView we just decided to skip that feature.

The SL30 is a direct interface, while the 430, 530, and GTN products all need the ARINC interface.
