No RPM Reading

I have been in/out of the country for the last three months.  I was able to start my engine for the first time today (annual is about complete).  I have a LIO-360.

I have my RPM wires hooked up to pins 32/33 (White/Green, White/ Blue).  They are hooked up to the ignition switch through the 30okm resistors (per diagram on p 6-27).  This is the same setup I had for my EMS D-10A, no problems.

I went to the Engine setup menu and change the values from 0.5 through 2.0  I have one conventional mag, and a Light Speed Ignition.  Again, this setup worked fine for my previous Dynon EMS. I get a 0 reading.

What am I doing wrong?

If you're sure it's setup correctly I'd save the settings you have and download the pre configured sensor map file for your engine - answer has got to be something you're not seeing ;)

Did you actually change wiring between the previous EMS? Pins 32/33 are not the correct ones for RPM, but this could just be a typo.

Did you have DSAB connected with your EMS? If you have the DSAB pins wired on a SkyView EMS it can kill your RPM since those are low voltage RPM inputs on SkyView.

Sorry,  I confused the issue.  I have the appropriate EMS Skyview wire harness purchased from Dynon.  It is not the same EMS-D10 Wire harness.

What I was trying to convene - my setup wth the 30kohm resistors, connected to the ignition switch (per figure 25, p 6-27) is the same setup I had for my EMS-D10.  I have now attached (new wire harness) the EMS RPM left, going to pin 32.  The EMS RPM right, going to pin 33.

Does this help?  Tim

Just as an FYI, there is no difference between a SkyView EMS harness and a D10 EMS harness. They are 100% compatible.

Did you remove the wires from pins 34/35? These need to be connected to nothing for the RPM to work.

You also need to look in your pin configuration and make sure you do have 32/33 set up for RPM.

Dynon,

If you are referring to the blue and green wires, yes, they were actually disconnected when I received the harness.

Yes, the pins, according to the engine menu setup, are configured for RPM.

Any other suggestions? Tim

I  decided to replace my wires, and it appears I had a faulty crimp.  It now works!!  Nice to see the RPM reading come to life.

Thanks - this was driving me crazy.  Tim
