A few people have asked for a picture of the screen with no SynVis. Here it is:

Heh....looks just like Houston WITH synvis ON. Yeah, coastal plain and all.

BTW, I got my SkyView in yesterday but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Looks sooooooo kewl though.

Thanks for the hat :)

All the best,

Re: No SynVis Screenshot - need change in color sc

the comment that it 'looks just like huston with the synvis on' should be considered.... the color for no synthetic vision option should match legacy products with blue sky and brown ground or some other obvious difference from normal synthetic vision on view to eliminate any potential confusion.

The non-synvis is always blue over brown, just like legacy products and the picture above shows.

There probably is one altitude in the world where the synvis color is close to the brown we use for no synvis. Remember that the ground color is based on altitude just like a sectional. There is one obvious difference though, in that synvis ground is textured and no synvis is not. It's really very obvious.

Add in the fact that very small altitude changes show up easily, lakes are shown, and a few other things, and I doubt anyone would ever be confused.

Any time you transfer an image from one system to another, there tends to be some color error. Also, the color is tweaked for our physical screen, while your monitor may have a different calibration.

It's blue, very blue, on the actual product. It's also totally unchanged from SynVis to no SynVis. Only the lower, brown part gets modified.
