Noise from dimmer switch

Anyone using a TP PWM dimmer for Skyview brightness? I'm using a dual channel unit with one channel connected to pin 25 on the SV. The dimmer and the SV share a ground.

I'm getting a background hum at a consistent frequency with the dimmer on and at any voltage. Off, it is silent.

Anyone experience and even better solve this?

Craig,
If I understand your question right, you're using a PWM dimmer to dim SkyView's screen? If so, this is not supported. The input to SkyView must be a changing voltage, not a PWM. It will act quite strangely with a pulsing voltage on the dimming input.

SkyView itself is a PWM driver for many dimming uses. You can use a simple potentiometer to drive SkyView's dimming input, and use the dimming output to drive other loads, assuming they are within the current limit of the dimmer. This dimming output will also work with the auto dimming function SkyView has or with manual dim adjustments via the buttons/knobs.

I must be mistaken as to the type of dimmer. The switch does correctly alter the brightness of the screen and I see steady voltage levels measured on the screen for setting the external brightness control.

The only issue is noise.
