Noise from headset after upgrading to version V5

Hi Folks
I have always had a slight ticking sound in my headset when flying and put it down to the EMS-10, but what is weird is after slowing down below 30kts it suddenly stops, I have just upgraded to version 5 and found that the ticking sound has turned into a strong background buzz,
again only when the EFIS D-10A is showing some airspeed, If i disable the HS34 there is no noise or turn off the EFIS D-10A same results,
I can turn down the variable resistor to reduce its volume but then would lose voice alerts,
I have One EFIS D-10A One EMS-10A with EDC-10A and One HS34,
Any pointers in where to look would be appreciated
best wishes for the new year

Re: Noise from headset after upgrading to version

Hi Guys
I appreciate it a holiday :) but any idea where to look for this noise source, I can duplicate it on the ground, With nothing other than the D10-A and HS34 running to a PS6000mc Audio panel the noise is constant until 30KTS or below when she goes quiet, Any idea's

Re: Noise from headset after upgrading to version

Ivor - FWIW, coincidently I've just had the 'noise' problem with my 8yr old PMA6000MS, the squelch circuit has problems so I'm upgrading to the 7000B 'slide in' replacement. This 'noise' was noticed right after the annual but had an intermittent problem before that. I just don't see that the software upgrade would cause what you are seeing.

cheers, Jake J

Re: Noise from headset after upgrading to version

Thanks for that jake, but i have several other audio inputs and none of them make any noise, Its very specific to the airspeed output from the D10-A, Before the upgrade it use to tick similar to a strobe, This wasnt too bad! so i choosed to ignore it, but since V5 it's turned into a loud buzz, If i pull the fuse on the HS34 its goes quiet or drop below 30 kts its the same, My Audio panel has inputs for Traffic/Talking ASI/Ipod all work fine until the D10-A is above 30Kts, ether flying or simulated it make no difference, I might revert to V4.1 to see if my Ticking noise has returned, The noise is the same with ether Bose headsets/David clark H10-13.4 or internal speaker

Re: Noise from headset after upgrading to version

Ivor,

Do you have our AOA pitot probe? If not, the AOA indication is probably pegged (even if you have the indication decluttered), and the audio alert is tripping. To turn off the audio, go into the SETUP > AOAALM menu, and push AUDIO until it says ALWAYS OFF.

Let us know if that's not the issue, and we'll chase other leads.
