OAT Differences

We have a slightly different problem.....It seems that I have to regularly adjust the temperature as sensed by the dynon unit by a couple of degrees centigrade up or down, at the start of nearly every flight to match the temperature broadcast by ATIS. Is this to be expected?....the probe is located way out under the wing.

ATIS is probably wrong!

It will be from a time different to your flight....and a couple of degrees is nothing in the big picture.

20 or 30 degrees is a different story!

how is the inboard end of the wing or there abouts? not on the fuse but not out a mile.

Any experience there?

My gut says it could be marginal in some airplanes from exhaust blast. I can't say we have a ton of feedback about that location though.

I usually mount them forward of the main spar nowadays - works well & the exhaust won't affect it.

I have actually taken it out to the pitot area, should be fine there too!

I do agree though with your spot it should work there OK
