I love flying!
I intend to do some test flying to try to calibrate static source position error. This procedure requires the static air temperature (SAT) as accurately as possible.
Is the outside air temperature indication raw data OAT as measured by the probe, or is it corrected for ram rise to give SAT?. If not corrected, what is the temperature probe recovery factor to use in the correction?
Whilst compressible flow effects are not large in light aircraft, at cruising speeds of my aircraft (176 KTAS) theoretical total ram rise is about 4 deg Celsius, which is more than negligible.
