OAT sensor- removable connectors?

I'm using molex microfit connectors (like on the backup battery connectors) in my system, but even a 2 wire connector is too big to fit through the 3/8" hole for the OAT sensor. I know I can use some d-sub connectors and then seal them with heat shrink, but them I have to cut the heat shrink off if I need to remove the sensor. Is anyone using something different, or just not worrying about it?

You didn't mention if it was Skyview or not.
With the OAT probe supplied for the ADAHRS unit, it has the connector not installed, just loose wires with the pins on the end.
Connector goes on after the wires are fed through.
If you are using microfit connectors, can you do the same thing?

What Glenn said. Install using the Dynon provided connector and don't look back. Highly unlikely it will ever need to come out again.

Sorry: Skyview, Dynon OAT, located very far from the ADHRs. Ran my own 20 ga wires from the ADHRs to the OAT. An old USN Chief who taught me wiring basics drilled into me that it's easy to hook something up, but what are you going to do when it breaks?, so always make it removable and reparable. I'd like to have a connector to pull the OAT out of the metal it's mounted on, and the molex micro (same as Dynon uses on the ADHRs and backup battery) won't fit through the 3/8" hole.

The Dynon OAT is a solid state thermistor, with no moving parts, whose service life will most likely match that of the aircraft.

With that said, if you are concerned about removing the OAT after install, include a service loop in the harness that can be cut to facilitate easy removal and reinstall.

I try to avoid installing connectors whenever possible. Installing a connector that is not needed introduces another potential failure point.
