I have a request. Is it possible to get the nav database updates more than 1 day (or 0 days) prior to the expiration of the previous database? This is the second time that I'll be out on a cross country during a database rollover and will be flying with an out of date database since it's getting dropped on the website so late. Thanks.

The Oct 16th database has been on our site for almost a week now. Scroll down a bit from the current one and it's there:

I have a question about the data file that is now available, now I see a '.duc' file with the description that is is an aviation and obstacle database update. While in the past the there were two separate file for aviation and obstacles that had the extension '.dup'. Has the format for the database updates changed or is this '.duc' file a combination of the two '.dup' files? Or could it be that this '.duc' file is actually a PKzip compressed file that contains the both?

The .duc is a combined format that allows SV to load multiple files in one go, just as long as you're on one of the last few software versions. Yes, it's a zip, but you don't need to care about that. No need to unzip it. Just load the .duc like you would a .dup.
