What would cause an overvoltage warning on my D180 and not on the VP100?

I had my first engine start recently and when i turned on the 1U switch for my Alt, the D180 gave me the warning and showed 19.6? I have a Planepower 70 amp alt with a LR-3C regulator.

Thanks

Does the VP100 need to be configured with overvoltage thresholds? At a quick glance, overvoltage wasn't always in the VP100 software so also check you have up to date firmware.

Found it.

Just double checked my wiring....ground was left off the F2 terminal on the Alt.

Guess that would do it.

Thanks for the quivk response!

Back to trouble shooting. The F2 terminal (gnd) on the planepower alt is grounded to the case, which is grounded to the A/C frame, so that wasnt the issue.

The firmware for the VP100 is up to date and the overvoltage setting in the VP is configured to 16.0. The alt field wire goes from the vp unit, which i would hope would pick up on over voltage before the D180?

Im stumped....

Unless the VP isn't "seeing" the voltage. Make sure the output from the alternator is getting to it and the regulator.
