pitch gain, altitude gain, vsi gain?

Can someone from Dynon define these variables and how they affect the dynamics of autopilot pitch control?. Pitch gain, altitude gain, vsi gain?.
After after many attempts to get good altitude hold in unstable air (vertical gusts) I have given up. If I had a deeper understanding of each of these, it would help solve my riddle.

I understand the function of gain, but 3 different gains?, exactly is the difference between each?.

After installing V16 software, in the auto pilot setup screen for roll control, I see new roll control points. CDI gain, CDI dot gain, XTE gain, and XTE dot gain. I can't find any documentation that explains what they and how to adjust. Thanks in advance for any help!
