I'm using clip-on sunglasses with my prescription glasses, but am only able to find the polarized style. I can read the 7" SV monitor well enough with them, but the LCD on the SV-COM radio is totally black unless I tip my head 70 degrees or so (the SV-COM is mounted horizontally). Is it possible to get the SV-COM with an LCD orientation that matches the SV monitor?

Or, perhaps someone knows where I can get non-polarized clip-ons?

We don't offer our products with the LCDs mounted in different directions. Besides LCD viewing issues, another good reason to not wear polarized sunglasses in aircraft while flying is that you want to see the glare off of other aircraft, and polarized sunglasses inhibit those sparkles of light you're after.

When my optometrist found out I was a pilot she highly recommended that I NOT use polarized sunglasses for the very reason noted in the first post. A very distinguished pilot with a float rating said the only way to check for rocks under the water was polarized sunglasses and kept a pair in his plane for that purpose. Go figure eh?

I did find some (non polarized) sunglasses with reading lens in the bottom at a WalMart although I now see them advertised in some of the aviation magazines. No clip-ons though. :(

Free product idea: polarized canopies for float planes ;)
