Problem with servo SV32 (D10A), always yellow ;;

Hello everyone,

I have been flying for over 10 years with a D10A and an SV32 servo for roll.

During installation and testing, I had no experience with autopilots and, fearing that the autopilot would overpower me, I set the torque to 60%. It worked perfectly, with the yellow slip indicator rarely coming only on heavy turbulences.

Since a few flights, the slip has become frequent, and during my last trip, the autopilot became unusable.

I set the torque value to 100% and did a test flight, but the indicator is still yellow and the aircraft is no longer being piloted.

Must I conclude that this high-quality servo is out of order and needs to be replaced, or is it perhaps repairable?

Thank you for your answers...

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, the shear screw is not broken!!!
However, I did a ground test that could help (experts) find the cause of the problem.

When I engage the autopilot, you can hear that the servo becomes active, it locks the stick, but the slip indicator turns yellow 1 or 2 seconds after engagement with no effort on the stick and therefore zero torque for the servo.

Does anyone have an explanation?

Merci par avance ...

Hello everyone,

I don't have another servo...
If the motor was faulty, it wouldn't lock the stick when the autopilot is engaged.

It might be a software problem... but there are no DSAB messages.

I'm going to redo the entire installation, just in case.

I'd really like someone from DYNON to take a look at it.
Does anyone know if it's possible to do a standard exchange?

Thanks in advance...

Michel

Most likely not a wiring problem -
if the network wires were incorrectly installed then you would get a message telling either 1 & 6 or 4 & 8 needs sorting & power/ground are good because it will power up & ‘lock on’ as you indicated.
Are you able to swap servos (assuming you have roll & pitch) ?
