Purple coloring

Any idea what this might be? The screen started out fine then over some period of time gradually developed this purpleish overcoloring. Doesn't always happen but haven't identified anything in particular that might be behind it.

If that color is purple, then it looks normal for "some missing ADSB weather data".  Look at pages 7-70 to 7-80 or so in the Pilot's Guide.  It says purple means no ADSB weather data for an area.

Both your photos show "no NEXRAD CONUS" received.

Are you new to Skyview?  Is your ADSB new? or newly set up?  Was the unit on for a while, and in view of ADSB towers the whole time?

I would bet that if it ran for a while, in view of one or more towers, that all that purple would disappear over time.

Thanks, Tom, I'm sure that's it. I was flying with my non-pilot nephew and was frankly more attention to him than the detail. We did notice that it it seemed to change with altitude but I didn't connect it with ADSB weather.

Nope, several hundred hours on Skyview, just missed it.  :eek:
