Quality of EGT Probes?

Can you tell me about the quality of the EGT probes? I understand there is an ongoing debate between JPI and EI about who has the better probes. What probes come with the EMS-D10 ? I'm flying a RV-6 with a 0-360 A1A. thanks, Bob Martin

I'm not sure that with a thermocouple (which is just two types of metal connected to one another) there is a real quality difference. There may be some subjective tradeoffs between the mass of the probe housing and thermal response, but these aren't inherently "quality" issues. So I'm not sure I can answer your question.

The EMS can use any K-type thermocouple on EGT and any J-type on CHT. If you have a preference for a specific themocouple vendor, you can feel free to use those probes with our system.

Thanks for your reply. I'm guessing my quality issue question is more in the thermal response issue rather than workmanship. Can you tell me who makes the K-type EGT probes that come with the EMS ? and/or are they the same caliber as JPI or EI use?
I understand you sell the EMS with or without probes but I would perfer to buy the complete package instead of buying parts from other vendors. Although, If you are supplying a lesser grade probe to keep the costs down, I'd rather know sooner than later. For the record, I use your EFIS and love it! thats why I'm here.
