I am in the process of building an RV-6A (80% complete) and plan to install a 10" Skyview system, but I have a number of questions.
1) I do not see a probe or way to monitor RPM. How is this achieved?
2) I plan to also keep the traditional instruments on the panel, do you have recommendations for connecting the pitot and static lines since you recommend to install the ADAHRS in the fuselage?
3) How long is the main harnes and I am assuming that the part of the main harnes would need to routed to where the ADAHRS is installed?
4) I currently have a Micro Vision VM1000 (Engine Monitor) that I am not going to install because the company is no longer in business. I plan to buy Skyview engine montor package (software and sensors), but I need ask, are the sensors for the VM1000 the same as what is included with the Skyview system? If not all, how about the fuel flow transducer? I am asking since I have already installed all these sensors.
5) I currently have an Auto Pilot (Roll Control) and I am consider installing the Skyview auto pilot, but was wondering if I could still use the roll servo from my current auto pilot and just buy the pitch servo?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am new to this forum and I want to make sure that I plan correctly for when I install the Sky View system. I am currently wiring my panel and would expect to install the Skyview system at the end of the year. I also have a Garmin GNS 430W that will be connected to the Skyview. Thank you.

1) By connecting to the magneto p-leads through a resistor. See the installation manual for additional connection details.
2) You can tee of the existing pitot/static lines. Beyond that, there aren't any special considerations, really
3) The main harness has 6' going to most places. The ADAHRS and other SkyView Network devices actually use separate cables that aren't the main harness. They're available in different lengths to suit your installation. See our order form on our home page (green button, upper left), as it has some info on configuring a SkyView. See the installation manual for more detailed information about SkyView network connections.
4) Fuel flow should work if it's a FloScan or EI or similar sensor (it most likely is). EGTs would work if they're type K thermocouples, and CHTs would work if they're type Js. Other probes aren't going to be compatible, but you're down to smaller dollars for the rest. It may make sense for you to not buy the kit, and instead just the pieces you're missing, after you determine what you can re-use from your existing installation.
5) No. Unlike a lot of autopilots, Dynon Autopilot servos are more than just motors. They have electronics in them that let them detect when they're slipping, and when you need to trim up and down.
