Quick question about GPS175

I'm considering to install an ifr approved gps and the GPS 175 looks great (size and price wise). However, playing with the trainer app I noticed that the keyboard is awful (as you have to keep swiping to get access to the letter).

Anyways, can I make inputs to the gps via HDX touchscreen instead? Or the only way to update the flight plan is via the gps175 then sending it to the Skyview?

Can only display nav info on the Dynon. It’s not part of their sandbox so all inputs have to be on the Garmin. I have one, and the screen swiping for a letter suck but you can still spin the knobs like the old 430/530 so it’s not so bad. You enter your flight plan once and likely don’t touch it again much during the flight anyway.

How bad is to update ATC changes while flying?

I don't find it onerous at all. While any small screen keyboard is somewhat problematic, "awful" is not the word I'd use. It's completely usable. Obviously, YMMV, but that's my experience after using it for 2 years. And not for nothing, but you can change your flight plan on Foreflight and upload it via Bluetooth. Or just punch in the airport/waypoint identifier and/or approach. Again, not a big deal.

You can also use the knob to set the identifier. I agree it's a pain to swipe the keyboard, but using the knob works fine and is arguably better anyway.
