Thanks for the explanation. It's a good thing we cleared it up, because we have a solution for you.
The FD is only available with a Dynon servo. However, the underlying change to the horizon pointer (which is what we call the "batwings") will work without a servo. The issue is the menu is blocked because you don't have a servo. Nobody ever asked to change this before, so it wasn't an issue. We didn't block anyone without an AP from making this change on purpose, it was just a coincidence.
If you prefer the horizon reference associated with our dual cue flight director, you can load the attached file titled "dual cue". Load "single cue" to go back. This is a way around not being able to go in the menu and change it.
Note there are no "crosshairs" - the cross hairs are the flight director command bars.

Nope. The FD is part of the AP and requires servos. That was an active design decision on our part.
